Project 1

      Project 1’s guidelines were vague and open ended, which was terrifying at first but then allowed for full creative liberties. I was instructed to make something that I want to explore more or something that I was passionate about. I chose wings as the foundation of my project. Wings, specifically angel wings, are so interesting to me because of the texture, differentiations and uniqueness. Not only did the visual aesthetics entice me into creating wings but also the emotional ramifications that I attach to them. I see wings as an extension to who a person is like an aura. Despite the fact that humans don’t actually have wings, but with historical images and stories, one can imagine a world with them. I chose to make the wings out of wood because of the sturdiness and resilience of wood.
